TOP 8 PLACES TO STAY IN NICARAGUA

Everyone wants to stay at the best place when they travel, but with so many options it's sometimes hard to choose which one is best for YOU!

So we broke it down into the TOP 8 PLACES we think you should stay in Nicaragua!

This list is our own opinion, but we are confident you will have a great time at each of these places no matter what!

1. LITTLE CORN ISLAND

Where to Stay: The Lighthouse 

What to do: Do the snorkel and fishing trip! Great daily activity for a reasonable price. You can also eat the fish you caught that same day! The beaches are beautiful here, so it's hard to leave this place.

How long: 2-3 Nights

2. OMETEPE ISLAND

Where to stay: Hostel Lazy Crab

If you love Bob Marley, chilled our vibes and super cool architecture, Lazy Crab Hostel is for you.  Everybody will feel at home staying here, and the views from the new party deck are pretty epic. Great location, friendly staff and an awesome Rastafarian feel which makes it definitely unique . Book in advance if possible. 

What to do: Hike a volcano. End of story.....wait, smoke some Ganja perhaps?

How long to stay: 2-3 nights

3. SAN JUAN DEL SUR

Where to stay: The Surfing Donkey

One block south of the church in San Juan del Sur chills Surfing Donkey Hostel.The Donkey offers dorm, semi-private, private rooms and a rooftop sundeck. Beat the heat in their pool or have a drink at the bar. All are welcome.

P.S Grab a donkey punch, but make sure to follow up with a donkey kick....Not sure what the hell that is...head there and find out!

What to do: Check out some of the close by surf locations like Hermosa Beach  and party at night at LIT bar.

Notable Mention!

Pachamama Hostel in San Juan Del Sur is a pretty rad spot that holds a famous Sunday Funday bash and also has nice room options. If you can handle an all day party that takes your around to other various pool parties, then you are in for a good time! Make sure to line up early to beat the lines to get your tickets and tank tops! Get your tickets at Pachamama in the morning around 10-11am

4. PLAYA SANTANA/POPOYO

Where to Stay: Ruamoko Hostel (Opening in 2017)

It goes without saying that this is obviously our favorite spot! We are located only a 5 minute walk to Santana Beach! We are a mix of party, chill , great vibes and a whole lot of epic experiences!

What do do: Surf really anywhere along Playa Santana! The waves are excellent and Playa Santana beach is an amazing place to just hang around at! Interested in a party booze cruise? We got that too! Stay tuned for some other exciting tours that we want to tell you about coming soon!

 5. Surfing Turtle Lodge

Located at the Isla Los Brasiles, at Northern Nicaragua’s Pacific Coast this hostel is pretty awesome! It saves turtles, is off-grid and has a good social atmosphere. It's unique because they do things in their own way which we totally respect and love!

What to do: Save some turtles, do some yoga and surf! 

How long to stay: 2-3nights

6. Free Spirit Hostel

Any canadians in the house? Well the french due behind this hostel have a great spot in El Tránsito right on the beach. Cozy vibes, great yoga and surf with a total family feel! The deals are great and you leave that place way more free spirited!!!

What to do: Surfing and Yoga all the way! Then find your inner spirit along the way.

7. Treehouse Nicaragua

The name gives it away....it's a F*(#$*ing hostel in a tree!!!! super cool place and definitely worth checking out for sure! Great atmosphere and this place will leave lasting memories. 

What to do: Secret swimming tours...check out the website and pictures and you will see why you should go. They have an awesome Thursday night live music night!

8. Magnific Rock Popoyo

Located in Popoyo, this place has an epic view perched atop a hill and they also have really delicious food. Not the cheapest place around but worth checking out. Really great privates you can rent that hang off the side of a cliff! Beautiful. 

What to do: Surfing and Yoga then have some delicious food while you soak in dope views from their restaurant.
